Where to Stay
If you are looking for the ultimate in luxury boutique hotels, look no further than Hotel Serras. All too often, boutique hotels leave me cold; with overly designed interiors and amateur service. Yet the Serras has such outstanding attention to detail, in every respect that you can’t fail to be impressed.
The breakfast buffet is a dazzling spread of fresh juices, pastries and charcuterie as well as offering a large selection of hot dishes. The rooms are beautifully appointed, yet its the small things such as having a proper hair dryer, a hair elastic in the vanity kit and a yoga mat in the wardrobe that give it a feminine touch and also make me think there has been serious consideration into making their guests feel at home.
But what sets this hotel apart is the impeccable service. Their check in is the smoothest I have ever encountered. Despite being a sophisticated oasis, they were super accommodating to my 6 year old daughter, plying her with sweets, giving her gifts and providing a little teddy for her bed.
Be prepared to fall in love, this hotel has the swoon factor.

Where to Eat
Flax & Kale – Recently I’ve been trying to adopt a more plant based diet. So Flax & Kale with its emphasis on flexitarian cooking, was a welcome find.
Vegetables, raw food and oily fish take centre stage. Far from boring the kitchen is creating dishes that sing with flavour and texture. I particularly loved my carrot and almond salad, with its smokey, intense notes, it had me seriously contemplating life as a vegan. The brunch options are plentiful and there is a dizzying array of cold pressed juices on offer.
The vibe is not typically Spanish, more New York with it’s double height ceilings, and light airy spaces.
Avoid if you don’t like hipsters.

Where to Shop
If you are looking for a designer fix, look no further than Santa Eulalia, Barcelona’s destination for luxe labels.
I always stop by this boutique when I’m town for their considered edit of some of my most coveted labels; Isabel Marant, Lanvin and Stella McCartney. I adore how the store is merchandised with eclectic accessories and artisanal perfumes (Byredo being one of my favourites) occupying the ground floor, with ready to wear upstairs.
It has an intimate feel, almost like you are in somebodies living room, much like the iconic Browns boutique in London.
Enter at your peril, as you will certainly leave with an expensive purchase.
