Blumarine

When it comes to party dressing it’s easy to opt for the safe and predictable. Yet sometimes it’s refreshing to step outside your comfort zone and dare to make a bold style statement.

I personally approach pattern with a degree of trepidation. so often it looks twee or cheap. Yet Italian brand Blumarine have created a floral print, gasp, that I actually truly love.

Print aside the dress has a great cut.  I love where it ends on the leg, short enough to be sexy and it’s sharp tailoring is neither too tight nor constrictive. Let’s be honest at this time of year with all the eating and drinking body con is a difficult one to pull off,  well for me at least.   The restrained puffed shoulder balances the hips creating the perfect hourglass silhouette.

Sometimes florals can look a little prissy for my liking so I like to give the look a slightly harder edge.  To achieve this I’ve thrown on one of my key buys this season The Sandro Biker jacket. Its cropped length means that it works perfectly with dresses.

The final touch is my go to tribal cuff by Cera Barr available to buy at the fabulous www.joumanna.com

No outfit is complete without my statement black pumps, I wavered between my Charlotte Olympia Dolly pumps but opted instead for Saint Laurent Classic Janis

Holiday dressing doesn’t come easier than this. Bare legs are optional but only for the brave.
