We’ve just got back from an exciting trip to Dubai where we showcased our new resort collection set to make an appearance later this June.
Dubai is such a vibrant and creative city, mixing the contemporary with traditional. We stayed at The Park Hyatt on the Creek for the first couple of nights. A tranquil oasis, set in lush grounds. The large swimming pool framed by billowy palms is the perfect place to rest and unwind, you feel a million miles from the hustle and bustle of the city. Special mention should also be given to their Amara spa, the manager was charming and our treatments topnotch. The Anne Semonin cryotherapy facial was to die for and left the skin revived and illuminated after a long flight.
For the second part of our stay we stayed at the relatively new Four Seasons, on Jumeriah Beach, an opulent yet tasteful beachside property. Service is what makes this place special, the staff exude such a great energy it’s easier to overlook some of it’s less appealing qualities. The breakfast alone is spectacular you could subsist for five days on the calories you could consume in one sitting. Be warned.
Food wise Dubai has so much to offer you would need lots of time and a huge appetite to get through the myriad of food options. We ate at Coya, an outpost of the London/Peruvian restaurant, it was actually far superior to it’s London outpost. Opt for the ceviche and raw fish dishes.
Special mention should also be give to an Indian restaurant in the Armani hotel, Amal. The tasting menu is great as you get a chance to sample lots of different dishes. You can also watch the Burk Khalifa fountains, quite a spectacle.
Our event for Alexandra Miro Swim was held at the health food oasis, Wild and The Moon. Our new resort wear was hung from the quirky hanging plants and provided the perfect backdrop. We introduced the collections to a variety of key press and bloggers and it was exciting to get their feedback on the range. We look forward to seeing our luxury swim and resort wear in magazines and on influencers in the coming months leading up to summer.
On our final day we had the pleasure of shooting some of our new pieces at El Chiringuito. As seasoned Ibiza goers it was fun, yet a little strange to see one of our favourite spots transported to Arabian soil. We shot on a relatively quiet and sedate Tuesday afternoon, but the staff told us that weekend brunches are a lively affair with a party atmosphere to rival it’s Balearic sister.
We travelled to Dubai on Emirates. A truly outstanding experience!
