Fine Dining at Indego by Vineet

Where do you head when you are after fine dining, Indian style?  Dubai might seem a long way to travel but if you are there then I whole heartedly urge you to try this exceptional restaurant located at the Grosvenor House Hotel.

Vineet Bhatia, the Michelin starred chef, is creating food that is visually compelling and exciting, yet retaining the rich aromatic flavours we commonly associate with Indian cuisine. I’ve tried his sister restaurant in London, Rasoi and concede the Dubai outpost is a couple of notches above, exhibiting a more refined assured style of cooking.  The setting is opulent and has a dramatic sense of occasion that marry’s with the sophisticated nature of it’s culinary offering.

I particularly loved the deconstruction of the chicken tikka, a paired down homage to its traditional roots.  Easy to write off as unnecessarily adorned, with it’s encrusting in gold leaf, but made serious by the depth of flavour on the palette.  Dessert lovers won’t walk away disappointed, thanks to the very aptly name ‘Chocolicious Indego’ – a medley of Chocolate celebrations!

I particularly loved the reconstruction of the chicken tikka, so beautiful to behold with it’s decadent gold shavings.  Easy to write off as unnecessary adornment but made serious by the deep, mouth watering flavours on the palette.
